Interface Level Measurement

In GWR (Guided Wave Radar) method of interface level measurement there is a problem while measuring the interface level of crude oil and water. In rope type and rod type there is a scaling or coating of either polymer or solid oil is generated which produce error in the actual interface level reading.

please give some idea to remove this coating online (mechanical arrangement which can be operated with PLC) or any other method to overcome this problem.

Thank you

We have tried a guided wave radar in oil water situation with limited success due to an emulsion layer.

Please give me an idea of the range you need or are you trying to maintain a certain level, I have been experimenting with a different type for vessel level control.
