we have ABB DCS control system and compAir air compressors (as compressed air system) with dryers. The air system is equipped with smart air master multi compressors controller.

We want to connect this controller to ABB DCS to let the operator monitor and control from DCS. how i can do that?

Hi Khalid,

Please check if your Compair air compressor is using their own Delcos controller or someother 3rd party controller.

If yours is using Delcos series than Profibus or Modbus RTU through RS-485 is available, please check this manual below (page 29) :

https://www.about-air-compressors.com/support-files/delcos.pdf

If you found that your Compair controller have Modbus RTU port than you need to find related modbus mapping so your DCS programmer will be able to map your modbus into their DCS based on this modbus mapping. You will need documents titled :

Delcos 3100-modbus rtu- programmerguide v1.10

please find from your supplier if you dont have or dodn't find available from web

If you found that your controller is talking using Profibus DP than you will need to find Profibus GSD file created for your controller so your DCS programmer will be able to map your Profibus DP into their DCS based on this GSD file. Please ask yiur suppplier to provide this file if yonr find available freely from web

if 3rd party controller than you need to check what is controller use ( brand , type, etc) and check communication port/type available.

Hope this will help you

thank u very much.

we have (SmartAir lite) controller to manage the compressors working. we have more than one compressors with own Delcos. the communication with DCS will be via (SmartAir lite) controller. DCS programmer ask me to let the (SmartAir lite) controller working as Modbus RS 485 Slave with following specification:

1. Slave address - 3.
2. Parity - none.
3. Badrate - 9600.
and ask me to provide Available Data and their Address details.

for me it is the first time to work with (SmartAir lite).
