Signal Generator

My question is: If a function generator sinusoid can be used as a constant current source. I am trying to confirm my own thoughts about it.

In general, signal generators have a moderate to low output impedance. By definiton, a constant current source has a very high output impedance. One way to approximate a constant current source is to amplify the signal to a very high voltage and then use series resistance to set the current range. The other way is with active current control circuitry using op-amps.

Probably just being dense, but constant currents & sine waves seem to be mutualy exclusive?

The output Z of the source will constrain the current available, how much do you need?

Feel free to educate me I really am grateful to learn anything at anytime.
