I have one ABB AC800M controller, it has one serial port and support standard Modbus protocol. now I want to use it to communicate with one device that support Modbus Plus. what should I do? should I buy some other hardware, for example a converter?

 

We have some configuration between ABB and Modicon PLC and we normally use:

1. A Modbus BM85 Bridge Multiplexer NW-BM85-000, with a modbus plus port and 4 modbus series or

2. A profibus connection, very standar for ABB and we use a 140 CRP 811 00 quantum profibus card or

3. A Modbus ethernet bridge 147-CEV-300-10. One modbus serie port to an Ethetnet port. Now we switch to this ethernet solution with very good performance.
