Turbine: Nuovo Pignone, system: Bently nevada 3300 system, sensor: axial displacement of LP shaft.

Problem: When two probes are in line, one is getting out after few hours of service, trippping the machine. But when onlu one probe is in line, it works fine. What is the reason & solution?

we are having a typical problem in axial displacement of Bently Nevada 3300 system. we are using two probes for the LP shaft axial displacement in Nuovo pigone make machines. But one of the probes is getting out withing few days of installation. when one probes goes down, other works fine for long time. what is the cause of this problem & how to remove it? does the magnetic field has role in it?

 

If axial probes are installed in thrust bearing, check thrust bearing collar.

 

Most of gas turbine has no thrust bearing JATIN. What's the distance between the two axial probes? Probably the presence of magnetic field may have an influence of the other probe, check the connections for the probe then the proximitor then 3300 System Monitoring.
