I am doing a servo drive retrofit on a Yaskawa system. The motion controller is the MotionPack SG-1 G-code controller. Current motor and drive are Sigma I and I just want to change these out with Sigma-II motors and drives.
Does anyone out there have any experience starting up a Sigma-II on an SG-1?
My understanding is that with up-to-date firmware in the controller it can automatically distinguish between a Sigma-I and a Sigma-II. Is this true?
Any pitfalls I need to watch out for?
