How to select a control valve? process fluid is hydrocarbon. then which valve to be select, globe, butterfly or ball. flow rate is 800GPM (US). decided by process.
what flow characteristic i should choose.....linear or equal%?
i know that first we have to calculate CV then we have to match with vendor specification.
want a elaborate knowledge ...if any kind person helps me ..i will be grateful to him
Thanking You

We need more information.
What are you trying to control, flow, level, pressure?
What is the upstream/downstream pressure?
The valve will likely be a ball, butterflys are used for low pressure drop.

valve specifications are as below at normal flow
1. inlet pressure - 700psig
fluid - boiler feed water
differential pressure - 625psig
flow rate - 221 LB /HR
specific Gr- 0.94
viscosity - 0.3
pipe size - 1" S/160
please kindly tell me which valve to be selected if u can, sir. please show me what are the steps.
