I am reading up on the material but unsure so far on the addresses for the info i would like from the alt71. items such as drive Config. for FDR setup. also the address format for such info as command start or speed etc.

any help appreciated on this

I'll be doing more reading on the drive and communication card for alt71 the card is VW3A3310 model

 

What type of device are you going to use to control the Altivar 71 Drive? If it is a Modicon PLC, you can contact your local Schneider Electric representative for assistance with the required programming. If you are using the Unity Pro software on the Modicon Quantum, Premium or M340 then we have some end user libraries that can provide you with a DFB (Derived Function Block) that can handle the control functions.

The I/O Scanner configuration of the drives allows configuration of 11 Words In and 11 Words out for controlling the drive. The Modicon PLC's Ethernet card is then configured to use the I/O Scanner service to handle the communication task.

The FDR service is handled by some of the Modicon Ethernet Modules and will automatically back up and restore the configuration of the Altivar Drive.

yes it is modicon cpu, with unity software. After a bit more reading i am able to send command to start drive and also set the speed through the io scanner setup. I have also set up the read of info from drive such as motor speed amps torque etc.. seems to be working.

11 words taught it was 10 in and 10 out?

Also would be great if you could send me those DFB for control of drive. Just to add will be setting this up with proworx32 in the future for other areas of the plant.

Does the DFB you have control the FDR service? Have not looked at this yet.
