View 2 tool

Dear All,

We running 3 frame-6B and 2 frame -9E machines with Mark V TMR. Recently we finished the <I> to <HMI> upgrade,

I would like to know, how to collect the past data for the analysis purpose if unit tripped? Can I use view2 for this purpose?

Will View2 collect the past data to future data?

thanks

View2 is used to collect a group of data after you type in the command and press the enter button, it cannot collect data from the past.

View 2T can also be used to collect data and starts after a trigger but you can get data before the trigger as well. If you are having trips you can set it up to have the trigger be L4 and then after a trip it will collect all the data for a preset time before the trigger and for a preset time after the trigger. One problem with this is that you have to manually start the View2T after the unit is started.

Another way to collect data after a trip on Mark V is the Trip Log. It collects a set of data before and after the every trip and is saved on the HMI. The file that contains the points that are saved is HIST_B.SRC. You can only have a certain number of points in the file (I think it's around 64)and if you add points you have to download to C and then reboot C. But the trip log does not collect the high speed data that the View tools can.

So it kind of depends on what you are trying to accomplish. You cannot just go in after the fact and collect a bunch of high speed data using the view tools.

Dear Mpac,

Thank you for your reply. i'll use view2T and back to you if i have any clarification.

Thanks

Hi all,

Regarding View2, do you know if it is possible to run more view2 at the same time? Do you need to have maximum 1 view2 running for core (so 4 in total) or you can have more view2 running per core?

Thank you!
