Wonderware MBENET Communication lossess

Hi fellows

In our plant we are using two types of OPC servers with wonderware HMI. One is MBENET and other is RSLINX. We have lots of Modicon Quantum and Modicon Momentum PLCs in our plants which are connected with HMI via MBENET I/O server. For quite some time now, we get spurious tripping of devices connected with MBENET. These trippings are random but only one thing is common that all the affected devices are on MBENET. What actually happens that when the communication of any PLC with MBENET fails, other connected PLCs randomly starts failing their communications.

Is it because our MBENET is heavily overloaded? can anybody tells me if i can determine whether my MBENET is overloaded or not? What is the maximum topics limits, maximum tags that can be defined in it?

We are using Windowx XP as an OS.

Any help shall be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

This seems like the kind of problem that should be discussed with the tech support folks.

It might be the OPC Servers...some OPC Server can't handle requests and causes some trippings. I recommend trying another OPC Server to narrow down the issue:

Try this one here, it's a universal opc server that has native connectivity to WW:

For the Modicon PLCs and the RSlinx, download their plug-ins from here:

Modbus:

RSLinx:

Hopefully that was helpful.

Let me know if you have any questions.
