Mk6 VCMI card

Dear CSA and Mk6 experts,
We have a communication problem in VCMI card of "S" controller. Status "fault" appears all the time and does not get RESET.
VCMIs of "R"and "T" controllers are "active". However , the turbine continues to "RUN".
I would like to swap the VCMI card from one controller to other,to determine the fault is pertaining to card OR connector/any other problem. Can I simply swap the card with out any precaution or procedure. (with turbine "shut down"). OR if I have to replace with a new VCMI card ,what are all the step by step procedure to be followed. Please guide me..
