How to earth the armour of DC cable. We have a 24V DC cable which is going to the Instrumentation panel (RTU) as a input power. At present we are planning to use roll spring and earth braid to earth our cable armour, since we are going to take the cable from MCT (Multi cable transit) and directly going to panel enclosure without any cable gland.
My question is that, can we use roll spring and earth braid to earth the cable armour (DC cable). If yes then, how to size the required roll spring or how to find the fault current withstanding capacity of roll spring and earth braid. Is there any specific sizing calculation available on the same.
When I searched in internet, I found some details related to cable joints/terminations. They are some few vendors who are offering these type of cable joint kits. But I could not get the complete justification or technical solution for the DC cable.
