Going from Quality Engineer to Instrumentation field

Now am presently am working as a Quality Engneer in mechanical company which manufactures Automobile parts for JCB such as Trunnion, CEC, Valves. Am a quality engineer where i do measuring the parts and do the hydraulic testing for the hydraulic cylinders. I can enter into Instrumentation domain by this work exp??
