Adding Pyrometers to an assembly line

Hi,

just picked up a project where i have to add new pyrometers to an assembly line where it is made of couple of ovens and a press. There are also 3 MH robots in this line. I guess am wondering if there is anyone out there who have installed pyrometers along with programming the associated changes in the plc software (siemens)?

I guess it depends on the complexity of the pyrometer and what the intention is.

Is the pyrometer a contact or a non-contact single point device?

Or is it a thermal imaging device/system?

What is it supposed to do?

Control oven temp? Monitor parts for zone of acceptable temperatures?
