Found that my Parkside 10.8A drill blew it's mosfet when I held full power on a tight screw.
Now I'm no electronics buff, but using the internet I decided that this is what this triple pin black thing connected to a heat sink is!
Now comes the tricky bit to try and find a replacement for a GFP50N06. So far it seems that any of the following will do: IRFZ44N; GS50N06; HX50N06; HY150/IPS50/N06. I have found the spec for this type of mosfet so seems I must now learn how all these notations apply.
Not that I'm complaining about having to learn some electronics as I'm retired but it would help if the manufacturers used common LETTERS - it seems the numbers are common?
