VPN concentrator

Hi all:

I'm looking at migrating away from leased-line modems for some of my remote sites due to my provider's inability to provide service.

Cell-modems appear to be an attractive alternative - higher bandwidth, lower cost, better reliability. Question is though, if I select a VPN capable cell modem for my 40+ remote sites, how do I concentrate all of these connections down at my SCADA HMI end?

A VPN router/concentrator appears to be the way to go, but are there compatibility issues to be aware of? It appears that SSL VPN does not require a client to run on my remote end (good for PLC sites with no PC), whereas IPSec does. Is this correct?

I'm looking at buying a Netgear ProSafe UTM150 for my central office, but I want to be sure it can work with any of-the-shelf cell modem.

Thanks in advance.
