4-20 mA twisted pair cable size

It would be great if someone could answer this for me.

I need to have a 4-20mA signal output from a transducer to connect to a solar PV controller through a twisted pair instrumentation cable to control the output of the solar PV system. The distance between the transducer and the controller is around 120m. Please suggest cable sizing and methods of achieving this.

120 meters normally isn't very far for a 4-20 mA signal, you could run 24 AWG and only add 20Ω to your loop.

What is the maximum resistance that your controller can drive, and what resistance is the controlled device? The difference between these two resistances is available for cable resistance.

Remember to multiply cable length by two -- it goes both ways.
