100VAC UPS or 230VAC UPS

There has always been arguments about whether it is better to use 110V instruments or PLC power supplies or 230V ones. In my country, main grid voltage is 230V. I would like to know if is it better to use PLCs or instruments which works with 230V in our industry or should I go toward 110V ones.

What are the main factors determining this requirement? I have heard that the most important reason to go through 110V is its safety compared to 230V. Is that really the reason not to use 230V for instruments?

I think it is only matter of choice of end user. Mostly all the PLC manufactures have both 110 VAC and 230 VAC models available.

110 VAC UPS is usually centre tapped so the voltage is 55V to earth. Much safer from a personal safety viewpoint, but as said 24V DC has to be preferable.

Do you find many 230VAC powered instruments?
