Steam Flow DP located above the pipe

I understand (now) that condensate pots can be used to create a wet leg but usually the recommendation is they are level with the process inlet and go down to the transmitter below. Also I understand new transmitters can be mounted directly above the pipe without any condensate pots if they can take the higher temperature.

But does the setup in the image in the link make any sense? Can't really find a flaw with it, though I also can't find anything recommending it.

If it doesn't make sense, then how do you mount a dp at a level above a pipe if it can't take the process temperature.

It looks like it will work.

The horizontal portion of the tube between condensate pot and the orifice plate should be as short as possible or sloping back to the plate.

Insulate between condensate and orifice to keep the flow low or you might get slugs of condensate throwing off the DP
