Hi, I'm doing some beginner level research in gas turbine used for power generation. Can anyone tell me if my figures are close to being correct?
For 1MW fuel energy input, the output is...
Electrical energy: 0.25MW ( only 25% of input can be converted to electrical energy)
Compressor power usage: 0.38 MW (because of shaft power energy created, 60% is used to drive the compressor and remaining 40% for electricity generation)
Total Shaft power: 0.25 MW + 0.38MW = 0.63MW
Heat energy Loss: 1MW - 0.63MW = 0.37MW
Other Losses: (Ignored and not factored in)
Reheat, regeneration, etc: None
Is my calculations close enough?
