I have 3MW gas turbine generator set that powers a manufacturing plant. The unit is run up and closed onto a dead bus, when loading the unit we see the power factor at anything between 0.6 and 0.8 but when starting larger motors in star delta starting config the turbine is shutting down.
This is an old machine with very little in the way of trending ability and we are at a loss as to what could cause this. We have another generation unit that powers the same motors with no issue.
