ROCOF & Vector shift

Dear Phil Corso,

Sir
We are delivering power on 11KV line to 66KV/11KV grid station. Guidance on mains failure, vector shift & ROCOF relay is requested. What would be the setting of ROCOF & Vector shift? The grid voltages vary in the range of 9.5KV to 12.5KV.

Sir,

I have tried best to find the manual even on net but could not succeeded. It is Micom P-127 Shneider combimed protection relay 110V,5A. The protection relay consist of the setting of ROCOF (1,df/dt, (2,df/dt) up to 6. The range is in between 0.1HZ/Sec to 1.0 HZ/Sec with desirable delay time. I have set it at 0.5HZ/Sec but not clear that is this correct or not.

is your intent to use it for protection against sudden "Islanding" or Loss-of-Grid disturbances?

If so, then the first step is to determine the Rate-of-Change of frequency of your generator!

Do you have the parameters to conduct such a calculation? Or, you might me able to use disturbance records of previous LoG's!
