OPC Server for Centum VP
Looking for alternative OPC Server for Yokogawa Centum VP DCS

Has anyone run across an alternative to Yokogawa's EXAopc server? It's reasonable if you also buy the rest of their package. However, if you want to use 3rd party software with it they charge a huge "fine". Looking for an alternative.

I am trying to do the same thing with Ignition server.

Hi shibu,

Yokogawa sells a Report Package LHS6530-V11 which includes the OPC
libraries for read/write of tags. I've used this in the past with Visual Basic & Excel to access OPC DA and OPC HDA objects.

It's been a while but I just checked and we still have it installed - we have used it to snapshot tuning parameters when moving/splitting FCS etc. I can probably find an example of how to use into Excel etc if you need. From memory it's very fast - there is no reason that it wouldn't integrate nicely with a third party package.

FYI - the OPC HDA can access trend data stored on the OPC server - usually a HIS or HIS ENG.

Cheers, PB

Hi.

I read your post regarding an alternative to ExaOPC. I was looking for a similar alternative. Let me know if you have found any solution to it.

I don't have the Report Package and cant actually afford to buy that license. That's why I need an alternative. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks

Post is old but the replies are new. EXAOPC is extremely pricey.
I'm in the same boat and I do have the reporting package. Does this mean this is a suitable OPC server? Would like to install the GE Proficy Historian OPC collector on the same machine.
