what is the difference between openModbus and MODBUS TCP?
is it the same?

excuse me if this is a stupid question but i'm new in this topic. in my opinion and with my knowledge i think its the same just another name.. but i want to be 100% sure that i'm right. so can u please tell me whether that's right and what are the differences between?

Go with what modbus.org publishes today.

There will be subtle differences in some data recommendations, as it is an 'age' thing. First it was called MBAP, then openModbus (before it really was open & free of some draconian legal restrictions).

Now you have what modbus.org publishes, so just go with that.

To move Modbus into the 21st century, an open Modbus TCP/IP specification was developed in 1999. The protocol specification and implementation guide are available for download (www.modbus.org/specs).
