I have a commercially available food processing machine which uses a Siemens LOGO 12/24RC controller to manage the cooking process in a food application. I would like to be able to remotely control this device.
Regrettably I have zero exposure to or familiarity with the Siemens LOGO PLC.
I intend to mount a small single-board computer in the machine to interface to the LOGO and this small computer will in turn be controlled remotely via a communications link (Internet / WiFi etc.) by a custom master program that I will write to run on a PC so that parameters can be easily changed from afar.
But, the Siemens LOGO controls all the process timing of the machine, and I would like to be able to start and abort this remotely. I need to be able to achieve this start and stop by either a contact closure or similar, but cannot see how this would be done.
Could someone PLEASE steer me in the right direction?
