Can you please watch this short video?

how can I do the exact same application and do remote upload/download and commissioning using Siemens hardware/software without the need of any 3rd party hardware/software? I am not promoting this product in the video but I want to know if it possible by Siemens to have a scalance or something that can do the same job and function?

As far as I am aware Siemens do not have the equivalent remote access kit as Netbiter. If you want remote access which is relatively secure then why not use what is offered here.

I would be interested to know if you would accept liability for remote commissioning any control system and the possible consequential damage of not being at the site being commissioned.

Remote monitoring - yes. Remote control / commissioning - No thanks.

 

If you place a router that can forward, it will be possible.

BUT, have you consider the following:

- Is the client, where the S7-1200 is installed, allowed to connect the PLC to the internet?

- Is it safe to test/program/commissioning systems remotely? - what would happen if the connection is lost?
