Lift solenoid valve (20QB-1) supposed to be de-energized at a certain speed while accelerating during startup process. What if this doesn't happen? I mean 20QB-1 failed and still opened making hydraulic/lift pump running with lift stroke delivering 190 bar of lift oil to the three bearings after reaching FSNL and even after sync and loading.
Two options available here:
**First, to continue operating with this condition until next S/D. I know this severe operation of the pump not preferred but this is more safe in case of sudden trip.
**Second, take the risk and close the valve manually by means of the mechanical override (the mechanical nut used to open and close the valve) taking into consideration to quickly release it in event of trip or shutdown before reaching standstill.
What do you prefer?
OR do you think that the unit should be shutdown as soon as possible to fix the problem with 20QB-1?
And ..From the mechanical point of view, is there any troubles may happen due to delivering too high pressurized oil to the Jornal bearing while the rotor is at 3000 rpm?
