I want to use the output of current transformer as input of PLC, by converting it to 4 to 20mA. I have not the exact circuit which an convert the CT output in 4 to 20mA.

Kindly help me in this situation.

There are CTs with the 4-20 conversion built in, or if you don't want to use those, or already have standard 0-5A CTs, you can buy signal conditioners that will do the translation.

I think there may even be 0-5A PLC analog input modules.

Hi hmqasim,

For you to be able to connecting CT output to PLC analog input,
basically you need the following :

CT to 4-20 mA converter transducer, as example is current transducer from Weidmuller :

http://catalog.weidmueller.com/catalog/Start.do?localeId=C&ObjectID=group69976559287522

You will need to connect transducer input to CT output and connect
transducer output to PLC analog input channel.

But this depends on CT range so you need to consult with CT datasheet for more detailed solution.

Thanks sir for reply.
I am a student of Electric Engg. I am making a project in which I need this transducer. I do not want to buy this module. I want to get only exact circuit diagram and I will make the hardware myself.

Kindly help me if you can. Thanks.

As a student of electrical engineering, I suspect your task is to come up with the exact circuit.

I would use a trms converter to get to DC then a voltage to current
converter to get the scale and span you want.

Neither is particularly difficult, especially with the ICs available
today. For an exact circuit, you could offer my consulting rate.

But, I think we'd rather see you do your homework anyway.
