I am control engineering student at DeberMarkos university, and I have some questions. can we use plc and micro controller together for one project?

Hi Merete,

The answer should be yes. could you please more details on the project
specification and requirements?

The Answer is Yes. But there is a catch to it based on application. PLCs are designed for more rugged industrial use. That is for continuous operation. It will only have a specific set of inputs, outputs or logic possible. On the other hand, micro controllers would have the advantage of programming more sophisticated logic, but reliability and Real-Time operation are factors you may have to consider.

With appropriate hardware, systems using both do exist and can be designed.
