Interfacing a PLC Barcode Reader with PC
Connecting a barcode reader with a PLC an then reading the barcode data on a PC.

I want to connect barcode reader with plc, and and from plc (Mitsubishi) i want to readout the barcode data on my pc.

can anyone please suggest how can i makeout this?

OPC UA promises to do this and much, much more.

There's a lot of smoke and mirrors about what's in the pipeline and what's coming out and how our lives will radically change (unstated as to whether that will be better or worse) with UA data flying all the place.

I stopped holding my breath a year ago, but at some point there might be an app out there that will exploit the power of OPC UA to put the bar code value on your desktop.

There are a few ways to go about it. If your barcode reader is RS232 and your PLC accepts raw RS232 input, you can connect the reader directly to the PC. Then use an HMI to display the register data.

If your barcode reader is USB (HID), then you will need an HMI or PC that takes the barcode reader output then writes it to the PLC.
