Delta P Shut Off for Control Valve
What is the significance of Maximum Delta P shut off for valves? Why due to high DP across valve, it will not allow to open the valve?

What is the significance of Maximum Delta P shut off for valves? In some cases, the Max shut off Differential pressure is given as Design pressure. is it correct? Why due to high DP across valve, it will not allow to open the valve? whats the reason.

Yes, if you have too much delta P, the valve will be hard to open. Also the high Delta P may force the valve off it's seat in other words leak.

Pressure is force/area.

The area involved is the valve trim exposed to the force of the applied pressure.

The actuator needs to overcome that force to move the plug/cage/ball/whatever.
