Cut to Length Servo Control
Which application is best suited for this?

Hi,

I want to build a machine for a cut to length application and i need some advice about how to do this.

I will use a Siemens 1200 and a Lenze 8400 servo drive. Need advice and suggestions on should i and why use analog or PWM for my application?
Is Siemens motion control blocks reliable for this work?
Any problems or suggestions i should know i advance?

You need to give a better idea of how physically your cutting system works and tolerances required.

Are you cutting wood with tolerance of +/-2mm, or laser slicing metals with tolerance of +/-10 ångström units units..
