One of our Frame-VI gas turbine taking for HGPI shutdown and found damage in Turbine 3rd stage diaphragm seals, 2-3 wheel spacer, stage 2 wheel which is beyond repairable.
Before that machine is running in part load within acceptable vibration limit and other parameters. Also only wheel space thermocouple was on higher side which was from last MI of machine so we are taking it so seriously because machine is giving desired output within acceptable vibration limit.
So what may be cause of turbine rotor failure?
