Contactor Info
AB IEC Contactor Info

Good morning all.
This may not be the correct forum for this question. If not my apologies up front. A question regarding AB IEC contactor rating. The side label shows AC-1 690V 65A and AC-3 (400V 30A). What does this info mean? Thanks in advance.

The harshness of the application duty. Inductive loads harder than inductive, plugging or jogging heavier duty than a motor you energize once a day, etc.

Hi gls0850,

AC-1 means non inductive load or slightly inductive loads: resistance furnace while AC-3 means squirrel cage motors: switching off motors during running.
