I tried to download the viewcvs file. however ftp does not connect to
the cvs.sourceforge....
The i downloaded cvsvies0.7, which did not install properly, that could
be due to the broken compiler of mine RH 7.1.
Is there anywhere, i can get a zipped file of the cvs by simple
shift+click.

You really need to connect using the cvs command - RH should have a package
called "cvs". Install that, and then follow the instructions on the CVS
page (Anonymous CVS Access), using a "." for the modulename.

cvsview is only useful for running a website.

I could put one up for you, but it'll quickly get out of date; you'll need
to get the cvs package, to be able to keep up with the changes. Let me know
if you want it just until you can get the CVS working - right now I think
it doesn't compile, so there's not much point, but as soon as that buglet
is fixed I could put up a tarball.
