PLC remote communications
I use LogMeIn Hamachi between PCs (www.VPN.net) because it doesn't require any firewall changes. Thanks for making me aware of this industrial router that does the same thing! Best regards, Paul Breneman www.CtrlTerm.com - communication testing tools www.CtrlPascal.com - new comedi example

Agilent 34972A to Modbus?
If anyone wants to comment about using Delphi, please see my comments in this thread from several years ago first: :) http://www.control.com/thread/1294638212 The 34972A apparently has Ethernet and USB connections. Here is a blog article that shows how you can talk to it...

automation and MODbus TCP data logging
> My questions are regarding how to best combine Modbus data logging in a PC that is running another automation task. There is a simple Modbus example (and screen shot) near the bottom of this (free open source) page: www.CtrlTerm.com I'd be interested in taking the program further to...

MODBUS EXCEPTION RESPONSE
www.CtrlTerm.com has Modbus RTU capability (see near the bottom of the page) and CtrlTerm has nice logging features (see Modbus screen shot). If you are willing and able to use CtrlTerm to troubleshoot I am willing to help a bit.

Modbus for data collection
You can find some stuff here that shows how easy things might be: http://ctrlterm.com/ There is a Modbus example and screenshot near the bottom of the page. There is info about USB to RS-485 adapters. These things might be useful (as a troubleshooting tool) even if you end up using a...

Sorry that in my previous reply I didn't mention anything related closely to the original message. That is because I want to use Linux (or maybe ReactOS) and avoid Android. Here is the least expensive industrial device I hope to use: http://www.emacinc.com/panel_pc/pdx089.htm

Android touch panels
I have a list of Samsung and Asus Android tablets that should start delivery in the next few months. With prices about $150 (US) for 7-8" models, and x86 CPUs (Linux software for x86 is probably more mature than for ARM) these look like nice tablets to reload with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu) and...
