Hello,
I've been looking for a linear actuator for a custom automotive application. It should be at least a 1" stroke (0.75" stroke might work) and a 0.75" diameter package that will run on 12V power. I would like to have the device either spring return or be able to be driven electrically in both directions. With power taken off it should be retracted or in a "non-forcing" state. The device should cost on the order of $30USD
- Solenoids may work but I would like a few ounces of force when fully extended.
- A brush type linear motor would be ideal, but they seem exotic and very industrial (i.e. servo) , not simple and cheap. Does somebody make such a thing?
- a rotary motor with a simple leadscrew design would work, but are there commodity sources for these things?
Thanks,
~Ken
