1756 L63 processor of rockwell controllogix family has a serial port on the CPU. Does this port can be configured as MODBUS slave port?
In redundant configuration, how is redundancy supported?i.e. does both CPU have same address?
Can MODBUS master read info from both processor in hot stand by configuration?

Contact your AB representatve for details on Redundant operation. As far as I know Redundant mode is not yet supported, but who knows.
L63 supports MB master and slave protocol to.
Get RS Logix R15 to fully support it.

 

In the redundant system you can install the MVI56MCM modbus module ( Prosoft ) in the remote chassis of redundant system. On the swithover the module continue communicating. The serial port of 1756-L63 cannot communicate over modbus. You need to install the MVI module on the remote chassis.
