Kinda new to ABB, trying to setup two racks of cards for testing, training, cyber testing
I have a bunch of spare parts left over from a job 10 years ago.
Here is what was planning
2 MMU's. 1EMMU01, pig tail to wire in 120VAC to backplane (just from outlet not entry power supply). Then 2 IEPAS02 to get the +/- 15VDC and +5V for all other cards. I have all the parts below.
My goal is to have two separate racks and put a infi-90 loop between them.
I am getting my hands on a IET800, but wondering do i need a INNIS21 to work with the IET800, or can i use the older INNIS01. I don't care about speed, just being able to send down some logic and learn the CIU protocol to send to the IET800 to get info off the cards.
Other than a IMMFP03, what other cards and termination units do need you think to create a simple 2 rack infi-90 loop with an IET/INNIS card to be the computer interface into it? Right now i don't care about digital/analog in/out, just want to be able to read cards from the rack, their model, and firmware version by sending CIU packets.
Any help would be appreciated.
I have also heard that an IET800 requires a license? Is that licensed per tag and per client? Does come with any default license. Want to buy only what is absolutely neccessary. I don't need a 30,000 tag license with 5 clients to be able to send packets to the MMU to retrieve the version info.
Thanks so much
Robert
