Hi,

I have a problem in dealing with ADC0804. I'm using a potentiometer to test whether the ADC is working or not. But it doesn't work. May I know what is the procedure to make the ADC0804 work by using potentiometer to test it? My input will be potentiometer and output will be 8 LEDs. The potentiometer is connected to V+ and V-... but is not working. The LEDs just light up like that, can't see any difference. Hope somebody will give some solution to me how to use potentiometer to test if ADC is working or not... Thank you very much. My email address is limjinchow at yahoo. com

you need two potentiometers, pin 1 of the 1st pot is vcc n the 3rd pin is GND.

1.The 2pin of the 1st pot is connected to the 1st pin of the second pot.

2.The 2pin of the 2nd pot is connected to in 6 of the ADC0804

3. the 3rd pin of the second pot is connected to GND.

4. and pin 7 of the ADC0804.

5. u set 1st pot to 1v and the 2nd to 20mV n

there should no further changes in the 2nd pot after its set, than as u vary the 1st pot from 1v to 2v. you will notice the difference in the LED, it will change in a digital way, from 0001 to 0010, try it and let me know.
