I have a 5/80E processor reading SLC 5/05 data via Ethernet TCPIP protocol. My application is utilizing small amounts of data. I would like to expand the data from 4 words to 100. How will this impact my system? What if I add 19 more SLCs for the 5/80E to read?

Hi Victor,
I don't think a 100 words is going to push the envelope. However 19 more SLc's x 100 words might. You didn't say what the data was going to be used for. This may be the deciding factor.

Hello Victor,

How often do you need to read the data?
Clearly reading you have to read 100 words from 19
SLCs once/hour is not the same as reading 100 words from 19 SLCs once/second.
