I would appreciate some help on knowing how to communicate with an Apollo XP95 controller via modbus.

You might want to check with "www.niobrara.com":http://www.niobrara.com since some of their communication modules list the Apollo protocol as one of the options. The NR&D modules can act as a protocols conversion between various protocls.
