Arcnet Distance Information Required

Dear Experts!

We have a controller which is currently connected to an HMI system via an Arcnet Coaxial Cable RG-62 A/U.

We want to remove our HMI to a distance of about 100m. There is no other node in the system. Please advise whether we need any Active Hub in between for this or not.

Your earlier response in this regard shall be highly appreciated.

The maximum distance for an ARCNET RG-62U cable is 1000 feet when the ARCNET transceivers are of the high impedance type. In this configuration, eight nodes are allowed on the cable using BNC-T connectors and 93 ohm BNC terminators at each cable end. If the ARCNET transceivers are of the low impedance type then the maximum cable distance is increased to 2000 feet but only two nodes can exist on the cable, one at each end and no termination is required. Moving your device 100m should not be a problem so long as you do not exceed the maximum cable distances.

If distance is more than 2000 meter then whether is there any facility like arcnet to ethernet conversion for <I> processor to MKV panel communication.
