I am writting a paper to submit to the IEE (UK) regarding the influence of Artificial Intelligence on Process Control (particullarly Batch Control and S88). Has anyone in the community seen/read any white papers/books/web sites which may be available to help me out?

Any help is much appreciated....not a light subject!!!

You are looking for Expert Systems or Neural Network Applications. I have worked on such systems But for metal industry.
Gensym Inc provides good software in this area.
