We have American Signal Corporation (ASC) warning Siren at our facility that is fed from UPS then its charging two 70Ah batteries through 3 DC Ampere battery charger to charge the batteries that will be mainly used during siren activation and will draw around 72 DC Ampere from the batteries and the battery charger will be disconnected during the activation.
we are facing repetitive failures with this battery charger which makes the siren always out of service. We have an idea to replace this battery charger and its batteries with a AC-DC converter to give the siren direct DC power since I have redundancy from UPS side.
Do you think this idea is practical?
