All,

I am looking for a device that will allow me to convert serial ASCII streaming data to Modbus ASCII or RTU format. Does anyone know if this exists?

Many thanks,
Dan

Dan,

Have a look at ProSoft Technology, and their ProLinx Communication Gateways line of products. They have a unit, 4102-MCM-ASCII3, which has one Modbus Master/Slave port and three ASCII ports. The ASCII ports can be placed in streaming mode.

Equustek offers a Modbus to ASCII converter that will be a Modbbus Master device and write incoming data to a specified register range.

Or the data can be converted to 16 bit integer or 32 bit floating point and written to a single register (or register pair for Floating Point).
