Automated Sanding/Polishing Equipment

I have a project that requires a large quantity of gemstones to be sanded to a very precise shape. I have not seen a machine that automates this for mass quantity. If the gem is over sanded it will fail QC if under it fails...

Is there a type of machine that can achieve a precise enough sanding technique for mass quantity manufacturing?
