Listers,
I'm in the process of designing an automated test system for home appliances. In this system there are 60 individual test units, each attached to an appliance in a carousel configuration. I'd like to add a wireless LAN between the 60 units and a host so I can collect the test data. The distances are no greater than 150 feet but the
environment is inside a building with steel columns as well as the steel conveyor equipment between the units and the host. I've looked at spread-spectrum devices from Data-Link and Grayhill and think that they would meet my requirements but I'm concerned about the "line-of-sight" limitations.
The question: Can anyone give me any recommendations or advice from experiences with these or similar devices? Thanks in advance,
Dave Hurd
