now a has been assigned with this new issue, i need to find out the way to convert a electric emergency power generator into an automatic syncronizing system in order to shave peak loads and seva money on the rush hours.
basically I need to know if there is a special requirements for the circuit brkrs? or I may still using the actual used for emergency transfer applications.
I will really appreciate some help!!

 

Common request. I do SCTT (soft transfer) and co-generation systems every month.

Suggest you have a look at the Si-TEC CGC controller. Very mush my favourite and no re-inventing the wheel. Have done many systems with this controller.

If you want a closed transition system (make before break...or known as momentary parallel with utility) you would need an automatic transfer switch with this ability. Closed transition ATS won't allow a transfer until the generator is in parallel with the utility source from a voltage and phase angle perspective.

If you don't need a closed transition system (break before make) you can simply add a 365 day calendar clock to the transfer switch and program it to turn on/off the generator and switch over power whenever you want.
