Guys,
Currently I am working in Engineering Firm as instrument engineer who as you design wiring, specify instruments, control narratives and write engineering specifications but I don't do commission automation systems.
Do you guys think it is more beneficial for pursuing an automation career to join Major automation supplier (Emerson, Honeywell, Yokogawa, etc..) where there I can have hands on experience commissioning automation systems? my dilemma I am afraid if I go to one these companies i would lose the aspect of understanding the process that I am automating (which is important in automation)and focusing on automation equipment (not seeing the big picture).
So which is better for automation career: Engineering Firm or Automation vendor?
By the way I have 6 years experience so far.
Thanks,
Mohamad Ashour
